Another of our family’s Autumn traditions is going on a fall color tour. Last weekend we drove from our house to the Lake Michigan shore at South Haven. It was sunny and in the mid 60’s. That’s pretty warm around here for the last weekend of October. But it was still chilly at the beach where a blustery north wind made hats and gloves necessary. My son chased the sea gulls and climbed the monkey bars at the beach playground. I love to go to the lake on a day like this. I like to listen to the waves roar. Yes, if your have never seen Lake Michigan, it has waves- sometimes huge ones that crash over the pier. It is so vast it’s like being at the ocean. It’s hard to imagine its size if you have never seen it in person. We drove home on the back roads and photographed some of the fall color. Unfortunately our unusually warm fall was not good for producing brilliant color in the leaves, but it was still beautifull.
