It’s Ultimate Blog Party Time! Come on in and welcome to Mommie Daze. Thanks for stopping by my party.

I’m Colleen, SAHM to my 3-year-old son and wife to my wonderful husband of 10 years. (We just celebrated out 10th anniversary last night!) Here’s a photo of our little family.I think this was taken about a year ago. It’s the most recent photo I have of all of us together, mostly because I try to avoid having my picture taken at all costs! Somehow my hair just never looks as good as I thought it looked when I viewed it in the bathroom mirror before the picture was taken, you know?

We live in West Michigan. Right now it’s cold and gray, but in a few more weeks it will be warm and sunny. Not long from now we’ll be playing on a nice sandy Lake Michigan beach. The beaches are one the best things about living in this part of the country.

My sister-in-law over at A Cup of Joy introduced me to blogging after she started blogging when she got married and moved to Australia. (Check out her Ultimate Blog Party post and her giveaway from her online store at her other blog Comfort Joy Designs.)I started blogging to have a creative outlet. After almost three years at home I missed the writing and graphic design I did at my former job. I’ve enjoyed getting to know other bloggin’ moms and wives out there. It’s also a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. Besides blogging I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, antiquing, movies and TV. I also exercise, but I can’t say I enjoy that. I decided after three years it was time to loose the baby weight, and I want to stay healthy so I can have many, many more years to drive my husband crazy!

You’ll find that I write a little bit about everything, my faith, my family, my marriage and even what we had for dinner. Have a look around. You’ll find recipes, some encouragement and hopefully a laugh or two. I try to be as real as I can when I write about my  life. No pretenses here. It’s just me trying to be a wife and mommie and serve God as best I can.
